Flexible working survey

The way we work is changing and will continue to change.

Most organizations lean towards flexible work options but often look at flexibility as a location or number of hours one works. However, if we look at what flexibility at a workplace  looks like, it may differ from one organization to another.

Workplaces had been talking about how flexible work benefits companies and employees before the pandemic. It is now evident that Covid-19 has rapidly accelerated the pace of change. Therefore, every organization needs to establish what flexibility looks like and what type of flexibility your employees need. Failing this, we may fall into the trap of following the trends, rather than understanding how to create flexible working as part of an organizational culture made by our people.

This is why you need data: you need to know what your people need.

From a management point of view, making decisions based on data to develop a flexible working strategy and policy is a clear win. However, that’s not what often happens. Instead, we fall into the “follow the trend” trap; we try to copy what others do. There is nothing wrong with being inspired by other players to take action, but the kind of action you take impacts your people and your culture. Therefore, you need data insight and to follow it with a subsequent action that will facilitate what your employees need.

We offer our clients a Flexible Working Survey designed to measure what our opinions are/should be provided to the employees and provide the organization with reliable data, themes, and insights into what approach should be taken. We want to see our clients creating sustainable long-term impacts. What a company wants might differ from what the employees expect. Throughout the survey and with careful planning, taking these considerations into account, we help enable a more flexible approach to work.
